Thank you to Darren for submitting the following question:
Is there a legal requirement to provide a hard copy of a statement of attainment or can it simply be an email copy?

Hi Darren, thank you for your question.
There is not requirement to provide the qualification or statement of attainment in hard copy. The requirement is the qualification is issued to the individual who completed it. If the qualification or statement of attainment were issued in soft copy I don’t see that there would be a need to issue it in hard copy as well. However the RTO must be sure that they are meeting their obligation to reduce the likelihood of fraud.
It would be worth ensuring that information about how the statement will be issued is included in pre enrolment information to ensure the student is made aware that the RTO only provides an email copy of the certificate.
I hope this provides some clarification.
