Assessment of Trainers

Why is there no national or state organisation responsible for the competency of 1st Aid Trainers. I recently updated my HLTAOD012 qualification and the training and assessment carried out by the trainer was woeful.

There is. Under the 2025 Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), it is a mandatory requirement that all Trainers and Assessors maintain and demonstrate industry and vocational currency up to the level they are training. Ideally on a minimum quarterly basis. In fact, it is solely the responsibility of the RTO to demonstrate how its Trainers and Assessors are maintaining this currency.
